ARRAN
The ARRAN Distillery is still young. It only opened in 1995 on the Isle of Arran, between the Mull of Kintyre peninsula and the Scottish mainland.
The British Queen Elizabeth II made a detour to Arran during the last voyage of the royal yacht Britannia and opened the distillery there.
There used to be many distilleries on Arran – most of them illegal. There were reportedly around 50 at the beginning of the 19th century. The Isle of Arran Distillery is one of the few independent Scottish distilleries.
ARRAN Gold Cream Liqueur was named the world's best whisky liqueur at the 2007 World Whiskies Awards. It tastes smooth and creamy with subtle hints of ARRAN malt.
