BLACK FOREST ROTHAUS WHISKY

The BLACK FOREST Single Malt Whisky was mashed and fermented at the Baden "State Brewery ROTHAUS" in the Black Forest.

To preserve the aroma, it was double-distilled in small copper stills under the supervision of the KAMMER-KIRSCH distillery (former experimental and teaching distillery of the Grand Duchy of Baden).

In the temperature-controlled cellars, formerly belonging to a brewery, it matured in ex-bourbon whiskey barrels made of white oak until it reached its full potential. Its alcohol strength was adjusted using brewing water from Rothaus.

BLACK FOREST ROTHAUS SINGLE MALT WHISKEY “HIGHLAND CASK”

This special edition was brewed at the Baden State Brewery ROTHAUS.
mashed with special malt and the soft Rothaus brewing water, fermented
and double-distilled at the KAMMER-KIRSCH distillery in Karlsruhe.

The whisky matured exclusively in wooden casks from the Black Forest.

BLACK FOREST ROTHAUS SINGLE MALT WHISKEY “CHARDONNAY CASK FINISH”

This single malt whisky was mashed and fermented in the Baden State Brewery ROTHAUS using special malt and the soft Rothaus brewing water, and double-distilled in the spring of 2016 in the KAMMER-KIRSCH distillery in Karlsruhe.

It then matured for a year in ex-bourbon whisky casks and in the spring of 2017 was transferred to freshly emptied, specially selected Chardonnay casks from the famous Baden winery Franz Keller in Oberbergen to mature to its full potential.

This whisky is another special edition resulting from the collaboration with the Franz Keller winery in Oberbergen. This specialty was bottled at cask strength and filtered without refrigeration to allow its character to fully develop.


Color: Golden amber
Scent: Vanilla combined with fresh fruit, spicy wine notes and hints of honey and cinnamon
Taste: Beautiful Chardonnay wine notes paired with pleasant spice, vanilla and oak notes, slightly sparkling

BLACK FOREST ROTHAUS SINGLE MALT WHISKEY “AMARONE CASK FINISH”

This single malt whisky was mashed and fermented at the Baden State Brewery ROTHAUS using special malt and the particularly soft Rothaus brewing water, and then double-distilled at the KAMMER-KIRSCH distillery in Karlsruhe.

It was then matured in specially selected Amarone red wine casks to reach its full potential. This ROTHAUS Single Malt Whisky is the first special edition to be matured exclusively in Amarone casks.

This specialty was bottled at cask strength and filtered without refrigeration in order to fully develop its character.


Color: Amber

Scent: A beautiful variety of black fruits and floral honey notes.

Taste: Sweet start followed by spicy, long-lasting red wine notes of black fruits and honey

BLACK FOREST ROTHAUS SINGLE MALT WHISKEY “PEATED CASK FINISH”

This single malt whisky was mashed and fermented at the Baden State Brewery ROTHAUS using special malt and the particularly soft Rothaus brewing water, and double-distilled at the KAMMER-KIRSCH distillery in Karlsruhe.

It was then first matured in ex-bourbon whiskey casks and in the spring was transferred to freshly emptied Octomore casks from the renowned Scottish Islay Distillery Bruichladdich for further maturation.


These casks previously contained peated single malt whisky. This gave this Rothaus whisky a touch of peat – a truly special finish. This specialty was bottled at cask strength and filtered at room temperature to allow its character to fully develop.


Color: Light yellow

Scent: Fruity, sweet with subtle hints of smoke and peat.

Taste: Sweet, fruity notes, malt, slightly smoky
