KNAPPOGUE CASTLE
Knappogue [na-pogue] takes its name from the castle that inspired it, Knappogue Castle, located on "Kissing Hill." Built in 1467 in County Clare, Ireland, it remains the historical heart of the brand to this day, symbolizing its close connection to tradition and origin.
When the castle was restored in 1966 by Mark Edwin Andrews and his wife Lavonne, it also marked the beginning of a special whiskey story. Driven by their passion for Irish whiskey, they began to store selected casks and build an extraordinary collection.
Over the years, this grew into one of Ireland's most significant private whiskey collections. Some of the casks later found their way into rare and highly aged bottlings, while others played a significant role in shaping the style of today's Irish Single Malt Whiskey. Soft, accessible, and with fruity elegance.
Today, Knappogue Castle is continued by Cobblestone Brands. The brand remains committed to its origins and stands for carefully selected single malts that combine Irish craftsmanship with a clear, modern sense of style.
The portfolio includes classic maturations as well as selected cask finishes, reflecting the complexity and elegance of Irish Single Malt Whiskey.
