The CÙ BÒCAN brand stands for subtle smoke and perfectly balanced sweetness. It is an experimental Highland single malt that focuses on innovative maturation to create whiskies full of passion and surprises.
This whisky is made from lightly peated Scottish barley, distilled in limited batches each winter and aged in a variety of interesting casks to develop unusual flavors.
This whisky combines light smoky notes with citrus fruits and exotic spices. Subtly smoky and surprisingly sweet, it opens up the world of lightly peated whiskies.
The Signature matured in Bourbon, Oloroso Sherry and North American Virgin Oak casks.
Soft and sweet: honey, coconut, and milk chocolate. Rich and fruity: notes of syrup, coffee, and paprika.
Clear and flavorful: with aromas of citrus fruits, pecan nuts and cinnamon
Scent: The smell of a fresh sea breeze paired with charred driftwood meets grilled pineapple, banana and ginger.
Taste: Delicate white chocolate and banana with cinnamon apples, white pepper and candied nuts.
Finish: Lingering coastal notes with warming spice.
The peat provides a subtle campfire smoke that adds depth to the sweet rum flavors.
This is a sophisticated single malt with sun-dried fruits and smoky exotic spices, matured for at least 15 years in Oloroso sherry casks.
The Oloroso sherry casks have brought out aromas of beeswax polish, Seville marmalade, extra dark chocolate, and Jamaican ginger cake. The peat provides a traditional earthy dryness rather than obvious smoke, which has helped to perfectly balance some of the sweeter elements of the sherry casks.
CÙ BÒCAN Creation #6 can be described in two words: Rum & Raisins.
The sixth Creation combines Pedro Ximénez casks and Jamaican rum casks with the smoky whisky, which develops aromas of toasted Jamaican ginger cake, toffee, spicy plum jam, Amaretto cherries and Daim bars.
An innovative cask approach was chosen for Creation #7:
The combination of rare Pineau des Charentes Rouge casks and fresh American white oak gives the whisky exceptional aromatic depth. While the Pineau casks contribute fruity and slightly tart notes, the Virgin Oak Casks provide creamy sweetness and a spicy structure. The result is a modern, multifaceted single malt that impressively balances fruit, sweetness, and subtle smoke.

Fresh and expressive with clear notes of rhubarb and red fruits. Sweet hints of strawberry confectionery and fruit gummies combine with creamy nuances of vanilla pudding and shortbread. A fine smoky note and delicate floral hints elegantly complete the aroma profile.
Palate:
Soft and balanced with an exciting combination of fruity freshness and creamy sweetness. Rhubarb and red berries meet vanilla sauce and shortbread. The influences of the Virgin Oak casks provide a pleasant spice, while the light peat smoke subtly lingers in the background, giving the whisky additional depth.
Finish:
Medium to long, creamy and delicately spicy. Sweet oak aromas and vanilla linger, accompanied by an elegant, dry smoke and a hint of fruity freshness.
For Creation #8, an extraordinary cask approach was chosen:
The combination of rare Vidal Ice Wine Casks (Pillitteri Reserve) and Spanish Verdejo white wine casks (Belondrade y Lurton) lends the whisky a vibrant, fruit-driven aroma. While the Ice Wine Casks contribute opulent sweetness and intense exotic fruitiness, the Verdejo casks provide freshness, herbal spice, and citrusy tension. The result is a modern, multifaceted single malt that elegantly combines fruit, freshness, and gentle smoke.
The bottling is, of course, at natural color and without chill filtration, to preserve the whisky's full aroma and texture.
Maturation in Vidal Ice Wine Casks imprints the whisky with intense, sweet-fruity notes. Aromas of ripe fruit salad, candied citrus peel, and pineapple syrup give it a lush, almost tropical fruitiness with elegant sweetness.
The Verdejo Casks, on the other hand, bring a fresh, lively structure. Lime zest, green grapes, and fine herbal aromas provide tension and balance, giving the whisky a clear, citrusy-green freshness.
The lightly peated Cù Bòcan DNA connects both cask worlds and adds a subtle, earthy smoke note that subtly rounds off the overall profile.
